Black Cockatoo Retreats has been named after the native black cockatoos that visit our Bangalow property. Considered sacred in Aboriginal culture as messengers from the spirit world – symbolising strength, wisdom, protection, and good fortune - their celebratory energy can bring about empowerment, happiness, and contentment. Also known as the ‘Rainbird’ with its distinctive call warning of impending rain, the black cockatoo is a sign of fertility and abundance.
Black cockatoos are loyal, compassionate, and sociable – equally happy hanging out in large groups or spending quality ‘couple time’ with their partners with whom they mate for life.
